Authoritarianism is visible. Reach out to feminists and groups who aren’t on the front pages of newspapers. At the same time when we talk about feminism in Poland we cannot just focus on  or the masses visible in the media. This is especially true when large-scale demonstrations are closely linked to everyday, painfully pragmatic local resistance. So let us analyze, in an amplified way, the requests for support made to women in small towns and rural areas.  

What are the characteristics of this kind of feminism? To understand this kind of feminism and its general commitment to small-city women we must start with a basic observation. To me this is surprising. Young students in Krakow during the coronavirus pandemic are offering monthly transport passes to women who are suddenly unemployed and looking for new jobs in the city. Pink boxes installed in community social centers to combat menstrual rejection. Cities are also sites where tenants fight over the rights to central heating. Women demonstrate the need to leave home as described above in a country where practices do not work.
